Family HOPE
Help,
Organize, Prioritize, Empower
Builds partnerships with families to help them
reach and maintain self-sufficiency. Participation in the program
requires active participation of family members through goal setting and
individualized plans for growth.
Family HOPE (Help Organize, Prioritize, Empower)
is a case management program of Catholic Charities. To be enrolled in
the program, families must
- Have children under 18 living in the home
(family is defined as single parent, married couple with children,
grandparents or other relative with court-documented custody of
children in the home, etc.) and be currently employed or employed within the
last three months (if not employed, head of household must be
receiving Social Security Disability, workman’s comp, or
unemployment) and NOT be a TANF recipient.
- Teen parents and women pregnant with their
first child are also eligible for services.
Families calling for assistance may wait up to
two weeks to be scheduled for an intake. At the intake, the client is
responsible for providing verifications (this is explained to them when
they make the call, and a written notice is also mailed to them as a
reminder). At the intake, families meet with the Intake Case Manager to
begin exploring solutions to the current needs. Each Tuesday, the Family
HOPE staff meet to assign case managers to families. After this meeting,
the case manager contacts the family to arrange a time for an office
and/or home visit. The case manager then works with the family to
identify goals, creating a budget, and exploring community resources.
Family HOPE is not an emergency assistance
program. The program goal is to help families reach and maintain
self-sufficiency through case management services. Financial assistance
may be available to families enrolled in the program. Assistance is
dependent on the client’s participation in the program.
Foster
Care and Respite Care Program
Volunteer to be a foster parent in this vital
ministry to families! This
ministry is offered through Catholic Charities by volunteers who
generously open their hearts and homes to infants awaiting adoptive
placement, minors or adult maternity clients who are pregnant and in
need of a temporary place to stay, or young children of families
experiencing a short term crisis.
Car Donations
We accept running cars in good
condition that we give to clients of the agency and we accept
non-running cars that are sold at salvage with the proceeds coming to
Catholic Charities.
